Title: Tactile Dome!
Location: San Francisco Exploratorium
Link out: Click here
Description: Subject: P-Go Bay Area Gathering This Saturday!
Hello again P-Go People!
We had several people sign up for the visit to the Tactile Dome this weekend, and I’m hoping there might be one or two or twelve more of you who would like to come along.
Below is the original email invite to the gathering. Take a look and let me know if you’d like to be there with us!

Anyone curious about an extraordinary sensory experience? Interested in exploring your awareness beyond your eyes and ears??
Perhaps you’d like the Tactile Dome, an interactive excursion through total darkness, where your sense of touch is your only guide!
Part of the San Francisco Exploratorium, the Tactile Dome is a San Francisco legend, enjoyed by thousands since it opened in 1971.
This is from the website:
The Tactile Dome is encased in a geodesic dome about the size of a large weather balloon. Visitors enter through a light-lock room into a totally dark maze (path). Then, for an hour and fifteen minutes, they feel, bump, slide and crawl through and past hundreds of materials and shapes which blend, change and contrast. Seemingly it’s the tactile equivalent of a light show, the tour is actually a carefully planned and structured succession of shapes, temperatures and textures which require the full range of the touch sense to perceive.
The idea is to make people aware of what a complex. sensitive and under used sense touch is, and to train them to use the astonishing range of its perceptions, which include detection of pressure, pain, temperature and kinesthesia, as well as cutaneous, internal body and muscle awareness.”
I thought this sounded like a fun P-Go gathering in the Bay. After our Dome experience, we could head over to A16 for some really good food.
Presently, there is space for 20 people to enter the dome at 5pm on Saturday, February 27th and the cost is $20 per person. This may be a bit short notice for some people, so depending on the response, we may move it to a later date. Links for the Tactile Dome and A16 are below.
Come out to a fun Saturday afternoon and we’ll see what we can feel. Email me if you think you’d like to go either next weekend, the 27th, or if you’d like to go, but you can’t make it until a later time.
Hope to see you there. If not, see you on the river!
River Love!
