We are looking for up to 20 individuals with the passion for, interest in, and possible existing aptitude for working with underserved young people in the outdoors. The eight day course is offered at the shared cost of $450, and there are ample scholarship opportunities that will make the training free or very inexpensive for the right people.
In addition to lots of dry-land and in-boat training, we also include a one-day swift water rescue class taught by a certified rescue-3 instructor (no formal certification conferred… just solid and important skills) and a day on our ropes course in Grass Valley.
We seek like minded individuals who either already work – or wish to work – with young people, in the outdoors, or in the field of adventure education. If you are just looking for cheap training so you can apply for a job as a commercial guide, this training is NOT for you. Participants need to be in reasonably good physical condition, but there is no upper age limit.
The dates for 2015 Training are August 8-15
If you’d like to be considered as a trainee, please complete the following application.
